ArtieToo sort of unrelated question: when working on a guitar electronics what do you prefer? Pickguard or no pickguard?
No. Just no.
The bassist who filled in for our regulaar bass player at our last gig was playing a MM Stingray.
Otherwise I've only ever played Sterling's. The best was a Petrucci Majesty...that thing played pretty well. Still Fugly though.
My friend who owns a studio has a ($$$$) EBMM Petrucci of some kind. Also fugly, but I have'nt played it.
If I were ever to pick up a Petrucci sig this is the one I'd get personally :bigthumb:

I always found the Majestys to be really ugly, too. My favorite guitar for the last 20 years has been my Silhouette Special that I customized with a scalloped neck and 2 humbuckers.
Tobacco burst looks great too..
I'm always talking about liking simple & clean designs. It don't get much more S&C than this. A little out of my comfort zone, pricewise, but If I win a scratch-off . . .

I'm more interested in the new Stingray 2 to be honest.
I will never understand Music Man's idea of esthetics when it comes to pickguards. For these...does Music Man want the audience to think you're playing a banjo?
