Since I Quit Drinking & Doping, I Got's Lots Of Expendable Dough & I Need A Delay

I'm looking for a really cool delay to throw in front of my Mesa. I'm not looking for lower line stuff like Dano, Behringer, etc. Kind of like the Vox Time Machine or something similar. I got the cash to throw around, but now that I'm sober, I am more fiscal so I'll be looking to low ball you on what you want for it and will most likely nit pick every little thing to death about it.

Plug your guitar and amp into a bottle of Colt 45. Makes a great delay. ;)

Great to have you back.

I liked my MXR Carbon Copy a lot, but it was a but limited, it did slap back great and sounded great, but couldn't do much else.

Then I got a TC Electronics Flashback Delay, and it does everything you could imagine, plus an analog delay like the Carbon Copy

Sounds like you want to experiment a little with delay so I will recommend a few that I have KEPT in my search for delay effects

VOX DelayLab - This thing is HUGE, not a small pedal, but what it does, it does well. 30 presets, more than enough for any gig. All types of delay effects, 10 in all with three variations on each. A easy to use looper too!

I Still will not give up my Seymour Duncan Deja Vu. What a great and under rated delay. Uses a real analog BB chip for tone, does process the repeats of the original signal through DSP, but you get a digital and analog with modulation tone.

The more I play and use the Ibanez Echo Shifter, the more I like it. I have found the Oscillation Switch useless, wish they would have made it a momentary footswitch. The modulation on this pedal is beyond belief, great job. Well built, and retro.

The one that is on my Acoustic board is the Strymon Brigadier. I really love this pedal. IT is easy to dial in, very easy and the tones are great. It makes the jump to my electric board too, but at the moment the Echo Shifter is living there. I also owned the El Capistan but I liked the Brigadier better. Lots of folks swear by the El Capistan so keep it in your realm of thought.

Two more that always deserve mention.... the Old line 6 Echo Park and Hardwire DL-8 Delay/Looper. I do not use them much anymore but still cannot let them go. Everytime I plug them in, I realize just how good they are and keep thinking they will make it back to my board.

OH, I am not selling any of them YET!!!!

Is it just me or is it funny all of us are recommending but not selling our delays!

Someone had a Malekko LoFi 616 in here a while back, but can't recall whether it went or not. Worth a look though, if you want something a little more unorthodox...

+1 on the Flashback. I looked for a long time for a pedal that had a decent reverse delay and this one does, in a small form factor pedal. The tape mode sounds really good too and it has like a 40 second looper also. True bypass and it seems solidly built and worked well on my pedalboard with regard to power requirements and space. I think it is compatible with the tone print editor that TC Electronics just released so you get one "pre-programmed" slot which you can save custom settings in. Uses a USB mini adapter for that.
