Since no one else seemed to Notice this...

Re: Since no one else seemed to Notice this...

Besides it only having one knob on the whole thing looks kind of nice

I was really excited about it but they used a solid maple cab...IMO that was a mistake.

I'll just get a 5E3 from Mission amps and drop in my own Alnico Blue.

Re: Since no one else seemed to Notice this...

Hmm might give the Valve Jr. some competition...although with some new tubes my friend's Valve Jr. head now sounds just like his vintage Champ combo...

Re: Since no one else seemed to Notice this...

I know I just got a new amp...but I think this is where my money will be heading next. The Champ is one of my favorite amps, and I've wanted one since I found out Clapton recorded Layla with one. It'd be cool if someone did a head-to-head Champ vs. Valve Jr. tone test thing. I think the neighbors might not complain as much if I have one of those running at night instead of my V32.

Err, it says fingerjointed pine in the catalogue.

I heard them both in a video and they sound a whole lot different. That Blue speaker gives it such a Voxy tone, it doesn't even sound like a 5E3 to me...

The next amp I get will probably be another Tweed and I want something in a smaller package with more sag compared to my Tweed Twin, which a Deluxe will be amazing for. I will definitely contact Bruce so I can get mine with decent correct (12AY7) tubes and better parts, at a better price, cuz 1799 for a 5E3 is pretty steep. As for that other 57, I think its pretty fugly and seems crazily overpriced...

Re: Since no one else seemed to Notice this...

I do not know, I actually liked both of them. But, the price makes me think about them hard that is for sure. The thing is that as it says "Fender" the resale will probably hold like it as for the low powered Twin.

Re: Since no one else seemed to Notice this...

Mhmm 200buckaroos for a sweet tiny tube amp. I'm sold already hehe... Wire the speaker in a socket, maybe a boost switch (swaps resistors on the pre's cathode) and yum.
