There doesn't seem to be many single-bridge-pickup guitars. Squier did the "Hello Kitty". Peavey did the Rockmaster. I know I've seen others but can't find many online. Fender did the Esquire, but I'm thinking more in terms of a single humbucker. The reason I'm bringing this up is because I just installed my Custom Shop El Diablo into my Rockmaster tonight, and I'm loving it. It was too late for me to really wring it out, but what I've heard already, it needs something better than this Rockmaster. Don't get me wrong. I love my Rockmaster if just for its simplicity. Bridge pup, Volume, tone, hardtail. Period. But it is a "cheap" guitar. The El Diablo deserves better.
So, what are some single-bridge-humbucker guitars these days? I like the Stratocaster form factor, but I'm open to anything. I suppose I could put this into my Schecter Blackjack, but then I'd need to find a matching neck pup, and I'd lose the "clean & simple" factor.
Sorry if I'm rambling. This is my late-night, "I can't sleep because of a nasty cold" thread. But I do mean it as a serious question.
