Single channel amp users how do you adjust your guitar and amp for mutliple tones.

Re: Single channel amp users how do you adjust your guitar and amp for mutliple tones

I haven't run any external dirt in years on stage and spend 90% of my time on the crunch side with a high gain amp. Normally run the amp pretty dirty but not overlay saturated where it will clean up and open up nicely with a volume roll back and lighter touch.
been able to play gigs like this witha varity of amps from a JCM 900 dual master Marshall to my Boogies and my Zinky stuff. Only works with an amp that is touch sensitive and it can not be so saturated it wont clean up on a roll back.
Boogie Subway Rocket on the crunch gain at around 2 o'clock or so delay and verb in the loop with no dirt added guitar is my stock Carvin DC 400 with M22's and active.

My Zinky Blue velvet combo on the crunch side PRS Custom 24 delay in the front of the amp no other effects except wah at times no dirt other than the amp. Gain is HOT at about 11 oclock ( MUCH more gain on tap than my Marshalls and Boogies in this amp!!) amp has only one tone control and a mid boost cut switch.Mid boost was ON and the tone was set at around 1 o'clock. just rolling back and lightening my touch to open up and clean up here. This is one of the most touch sensitive expressive amps I have ever played through.

This was a 1990's Marshall JCM 900 Dual master no clean channel set up hot time effects in the loop wah in the front and using my PRS custom 24. Rolling back the volume and using the 5 way rotary to clean up and open up then rolling on to get more crunch and sustain.
