Single coil equivalent of Duncan CC

Hi, could anyone tell me what's the single coil equivalent or the closest sounding single coil of the Duncan Custom Custom humbucker?

None of them. You can't really approximate a humbucker with a single coil, they are just too different. The closest you can get would be to find a high output single coil with an alnico 2 magnet.

In that case, would the 'lil 59 sound warm in an alder bodied strat with a maple fingerboard? I need something warm and humbucking like for the really sweet solo tunes and it's been quite a while and I haven't found the right pickup yet...

The Alnico II Pro single coil model would be warmer and smoother than the 'Lil '59, but it won't be hum-cancelling.

Not using a full humbucker 'cos I still prefer to retain the classic strat look, the slanted bridge pickup. Yea, anyway thanks for the input guys.

if you really wanted to do it right call up MJ, a bet she could get damn close with maybe a stacked bucker...would still look totally stock!

My favorite strong bridge single coil from SD would be the Twangbanger. My favorite mini-humbucker would be the JB JR. I think either of those would be a good choice, but they won't sound like a Custom Custom. Lew

I wonder if one of those Jb Jr's with an A2 magnet would be a little closer to the CC? MJ now offers the lil' series with A5's, so you might want to ask her if she can do the same with A2's...
