Single coil hum is so last century

They did, and it works well. Music Man also uses an active dummy coil called the Silent Circuit, and it works really really well.

Yep worked well and still kept the true single coil character pretty much intact.

For the past 20 years, I have played in a church where the dimming transformers for the lights are essentially right behind the stage. There, you don’t need to worry about 60 cycle hum. You actually have to worry about electromagnetic interference all the way across the spectrum. Even the humbuckers there can be very noisy.

So turning your guitar doesn’t really make that much of a difference there. Absolutely have to go with noise-canceling singles there.

Of the ones that I have used, the Wilde by Bill and Becky and the STKS4 by Duncan have been the best.

I just hate hum. I use stacks, rails and single coil sized humbuckers, leaving true singlecoil tones to my Jazzmaster and P90-equipped LP Special. On the latter hum isn't as noticeable.

But to each its own.
