Single coil humbucker vs, Full Humbuckers. 59 Trembucker for neck?

Hi everyone, I have my strat loaded with a PATB-1 Trembucker in the bridge position and a Little 59' single coil size humbucker in the neck position.

I was curious if the Little 59' was replaced with a full size trembucker, or full size humbucker, would I get a more full rich tone. I guess what I;m asking is this, do the ful size Humbucker/Trembuckers sound better than the single coil size humbuckers.

Also, is the a 59' Trembucker available for the neck position?

thanks

When I got my Lil 59, I was surprised by how close it achieved the full-size tone. It is a little different, but not a lot.

Trembuckers are traditionaly made for for the spacing of a bridge, but there are exceptions. My Peavey Patriot has an unusually wide bridge at 56.5mm, which puts the neck spacing at 53mm - still a bit wider than a trembucker.

You could just get a bridge trembucker and put it in the neck.

btw - Welcome to the forum. :)

I installed a lil 59 in the bridge of a strat for a customer a week or 2 ago and I was surprised how much it sounded like a full bucker. I wouldnt worry with putting a standard sized bucker in it myself!

I wont say something is better, its just different, and it depends on your taste, ok

I found li59 and '59 to be farther apart than the liDemon and Demon. Even with the Demons the full-size bucker sounds fuller, more developed, but I can live with the little one, they are surprisingly similar. With the li and big '59 I found the difference to be big and didn't like the little one.

I wouldn't use a bridge '59 in the neck under any circumstances. In my option, at 8.5 Kohm they are already overwound for bridge use.

I have to warn you that I found the full-size '59 neck to sound great in the neck position of my Strat alikes, but that some things such as full chords come out way, way too boomy, and it gets very snorty. Didn't try a Jazz yet. These are hardtails, maybe a tremolo takes the edge off.
