Does anybody know if those single coil invaders in the custom shop are true single coil or stacked or something? The description is a little vague.

I would like to know as well. If it's stacked I may be able to run it on a star shaped project. I'll look into it,I'm sure you all ready did thoroughly though, just I've missed a few things myself when looking at product description, oh well can't hurt to have 2 pairs of eyes on the same thing, I'm also interested after all.

Re: Single coil invaders

It's a custom order. In my opinion that means either way you want it. However it's not described as noiseless or stacked so most likely traditional single coil.

I'll look into ocuztom ordering it, I mean I'll ask my options, I'm thinking of running it through a preamp, with a custom blackouts.

Re: Single coil invaders

To be clear, it's not a regular production model as far as I could find. I believe it used to be a reg production and is now limited to Custom Shop orders.

Re: Single coil invaders

I admit this is a minor highjack, but those new single coil Les Pauls that Epiphone now have as their cheapest model might not sound too bad with single coil Invaders.

But in response to your question, the single coil Invaders aren't noiseless unless custom ordered that way, they are basically a coil split Invader without a standard baseplate. I think that some might be slightly overwound as well.

Re: Single coil invaders

It doesn't look like there is another coil there, but it looks like there is a magnet under the coil. So that's my guess. It is really like 1/2 a humbucker.

Re: Single coil invaders

Yep, they are single coil, not stacked. It's possible you could order them as a stack, but it would most likely be too tall for most routes.
