Single coil mod question

First time poster, long time reader.
If I had a single coil pu with a bar mag underneath, could I make it a rwrp by flipping over the mag and reversing the wires? Im working on a cheapie tele that is routed hss with 5 way switch and I don't have any other singles that fit.

Welcome to the forum.

The short answer to your question is yes. The slighter longer answer is more complicated because Telecaster pickups include the metal neck PU cover and the bridge PU shielding plate in their grounding path.
