Single coil neck pickup to pair with PATB-1

Something less growling/dirty than a texas special, more mids less bright than vintage rails, but true single coil tone. Hendrix machine gun lead tone, funky cleans nothing too scooped or too much output drop.

what would be the differences between cool rails duckbuckers and single coil custom flat

The cool rails sounds fuller and has more output than a typical singl coil.
The Duckbucker is intended to sound just like a vintage single. It's almost the same as a Vintage Rails.
The Custom single is a hotter, warmer single coil with beefier mids and less ear piercing high end. I think it's hotter and warmer then a Texas Special.

I'll second the Cool Rails suggestion. It's a good match in output with a bridge humbucker. It does have more mid and is less bright than a Vintage Rails.

Another choice is the Parallel Axis Stack. It was designed to complement parallel axis humbuckers. Has the same look. It sounds closer to a single coil, but has higher output and doesn't quite have that sparkly high end of a vintage single. It is a little larger than a tru single coil so if you're putting it in a Strat pickguard, the pickguard would have to be modified so the Parallel Axis Stack could fit.

listened to the audio samples again for neck position, yeah im picky

ssl-1 sounded nice but worried about sustain
ssl-3 did not like too woofy dirty
ssl-4 qp too middy dirty, worries about over compressed tone
ssl-5 bass might be too much and over compressed tone
aps-1 pick attack dynamic trebley, bit hollow

cool rails bit buzzy on the neck audio sample high output

heading ssl-1 so far

whats this new stack plus sounds interesting?
