Single coil out-of-phase question

I've got a G&L Legacy, had a local shop replace the stock bridge single coil with a Duncan Lil Screamin' Demon a few months back. I notice when in the 2nd position (bridge and middle together) that the sound is out of phase. If I wanted to have it back in phase, do I need to attach one of the other Demon's wires to somehow fix this or will a push/pull pot or mini switch be needed? The middle pup is RW/RP and hum-cancelling in position 4 is fine.

Re: Single coil out-of-phase question

switch the solder locations of the black and green wires for the duncan pup and you should be fine

Re: Single coil out-of-phase question

Cool. And does that split the Demon to work with the middle or is the Demon full-on humbucker like that?

Re: Single coil out-of-phase question

thats just flipping the phase of the pup. if you want to split the pup, you need to ground the red/white connection in the notch position

Re: Single coil out-of-phase question

I see. I don't really want to split the Demon, anyway. But it will still be hum-cancelling in position 2 or would the Demon need to be split in order for the hum cancellation?

Interesting question.

I just checked with my Strat that has a humbucker in the bridge - in position 2 with the full non-split humbucker it's not hum cancelling like position 4 is between the neck and middle.
