Those of you who use single-coils how do you have them set as far as distance from the polepieces to the strings? Right now I got mine set about the same distance that I was using when I had Dimarzio vertical humbuckers in there. Around 4 or 5 thirty-seconds of an inch.
I guess the Fender site says around 4 sixty-fourths of an inch which would be the same as a sixteenth or the width of a nickel.
To me that seems extremely close. But I thought that humbuckers were the pickup that can be placed closer to the strings? And single coils had to be placed further away?
