Single coils hum cancel

OH THE DOUBLE THICK GLAZE!
I found out how to get more hum cancellation with my true single coils in my strat! I put the rwrp in the neck instead of the middle and then added a neck/bridge blender knob. This way, the blender only has to be cracked to 9 to give the neck or bridge some hum cancellation. And gives 2 of the most used positions, neck and bridge, some hum cancellation! Yippee!

Re: Single coils hum cancel

Nice trick but I thought the middle position was your favorite.

Doh! :dunno:

Right now I'm preoccupied with neck or bridge with some skanky blend and hum cancelling, then middle, then the rest.

Recently, I heard John Mayer say 60 cycle hum was like the sound of someone breathing. I agree and don’t mind it.

Admittedly, I’m not out gigging around neon signs and whatnot. If I were, I’d use Fishman Fluences.

I never had use for middle/neck, so I've used rwrp in neck position for years.

Neck/bridge work beatifully together when you can blend them.

Not hum-cancelling with rwrp, but worth of it: Try adding phase switch and dialing 10-20 % out-of-phase neck with bridge for an awesome lead tone ;)

^ I haven't tried out of phase. That seems like a good idea to do partially out of phase.

Those fishman pickups sound good. I'm getting into noiseless pups.
