OK, ladies and gentlemen, here goes.

What do you guys recommend. I'm looking for another twin humbucker, mahogany bodied guitar to go with my '81 Hamer Studio and my Gibby LP standard.

I'm willing to buy pretty much any quality, US made axe, new or used that sells for a sane, if not reasonable price (under $3500). ;)

I've listed the options that come to my head, but y'all can feel free to suggest anything else.

BTW, chambered is cool with me. :naughty:

Re: Single-Cut Options

The PRS's aren't single-cuts (though you probably know that). I voted for the Historic LP - something about those are just... very sexy I guess. If you're looking to save some cash, I hear Heritage makes a pretty wicked LP too.
EDIT: another option I recalled is GMP. I've heard good things about them and they are very pretty too.

Re: Single-Cut Options

How about a dean hardtail? Not single cut, more PRS like, but damn fine axes, many people on this here forum swear by them.

Re: Single-Cut Options

Yup...go with the Dean Hardtail for a slightly different take and flavor on the LP sound. From a playability standpoint, the HT is faster and has easier access to the upper frets...it's also a little more comfortable sitting against your body.

Doesn't sound exactly like a Lester, but it's in the right ball park, and is a wonderful instrument.

Re: Single-Cut Options

Tried a class 5 Gibson Les Paul - they are amazing but at a price

They come with burstbuckers as well

Has the PRS been pulled off the market over in the US???

No i just got my musians friend catalog catolog and they got 4 prs there not to mention 4 SE's

if i were u i would get the prs mcarty get a lil more variety. plus the prs mcarty was almost co designed by ted mcarty which was gibsons president between 1950 and 1965 the more reputable years so in my opinion its like gibsons g and L but with G being just as good the dean hardtail is good but i think mcarty is better of u were on more of a budget id suggest the hardtail but money aint no thang for u playa

sorry im done

Re: Single-Cut Options

How bout a custom build? With $3500 you could get a pretty awesome guitar from the builders who frequent the forum...

Re: Single-Cut Options

Blueline makes killer customs. For $3500 it would rock hard. Plus it is a real treat to get to watch it being made. All your options to your specs. Something to consider.
