Hi there,
Just wondering if there might be somebody here that can help me out with a wiring diagram. I've tried searching this forum and others; so far I've come up empty, but if anyone has a link handy, that'd be peachy.
A little while back I scored a single humbucker-equipped Epiphone Les Paul Jr. for cheap because it was "broken". And by broken, I mean, I mean a loose wire on the tone pot, an easy fix. After playing around with it for a while, and deciding that overall I quite liked the guitar, I slotted in an SH-5 Custom that I'd had laying around. Somewhat disappointingly, there seems to be very little difference between this and the stock Epiphone pickup that I removed. Maybe it's just the mostly digital equipment that I put it through, or my lousy playing, I dunno..
I had thought this guitar might be a good candidate to install this product into, but sadly it failed to reach it's target funding on kickstarter, though there is still hope it'll eventually come to market.
Anyway, I'm thinking I'm going to replace everything between the pickup and the jack, and would like to install a couple push/push pots to add a pickup-straight-to-output bypass on the volume knob, and a coil split on the tone control to enable single coil sounds. I've found diagrams for each individual feature, but nothing that has combined the two so far. I'm savvy enough to follow a diagram, having done things like 5 way switching in two humbucker guitars, etc before, but I'm not up to designing my own diagrams..
Whether or not I manage to get my paws on the P-Link system or something like it, I might well change the Custom out for something else, probably a lower output, but I'm likely to stick with Seymour Duncan 4 connector style humbuckers for the foreseeable...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks in advance..
cheers,
swaz..
