singles mounted side by side?

If i take the middle pup and mount it next to the the bridge will it sound like a double if its wired in series? I notice that if i put the neck and bridge together the magnets repel. The middle and neck atract, and the middle and bridge atract so this makes them like one single magnet right?

Mounting the 2 that atract together side by side will sound more like a double in series right?

I don't know how the polarity would affect the tone, but just by wiring them in series the will sound thicker.

It will sound like the stag Mag, but not like a Humbucker usual sounds.

Polarity wouldn't be an issue. If it was, it would also be an issue in your standard Strat set-up.

It wouldn't have a totally classic humbucker sound because of the different nature of the magnetic field, but it would sound very much like one, and a pretty strong one at that since it would be at least 12-13k.

Dude it sounds great! the singles are 5.3 - 5.5 each so when i put them in series it gave me a 10K or so pickup. IMO it sounds just like a humbucker. It has a really nice sound and has good detail.

I wish i would of slid the top pickup over to the left a little so the poles ligned up better but i figured it would be like a slanted humbucker. Maybe moving the top coil over wouldnt sound as good. Im happy with the mod, it sounds better then any other 3 single coil guitar ive had so far. I didnt even try it stock, ive had so many 3 single strats i didnt bother.

It didnt cost me any money and was fairly easy to do. WHats cool is i can adjust each coil and get some really nutty pickup hight.
