Slash set 2.0???

I'd love to see how the Slash bridge pickup compares to similar-output bridge pickups. No Trembucker or 4 conductor versions, though, but I bet they can be ordered.

How do all these Alnico II Pro / Slash pups compare to the Pearly Gates? Different wire or winding pattern? Or does it all come down to how hot they're wound since they're all PAF-ish A2 pups?

The EQ is very different. The PG has more high end than anything, and the Slash has more mids than anything.

The APH-1 and Jazz were the same pickups wound with the same polysol wire, but with different magnets then I thought they switched to a different type of wire and maybe different magnets on the Slash signatures. The description on Duncan's Slash pickup page is worded kind of weird to me. So they managed to cram even more wire on the bobbins for the 2.0 set?

Just for my education - what's the main driver of the EQ when magnets are the same? Wire? Winding pattern? Just being wound hotter and shifting the resonant peak down?

all the things. the magnet is just one part of the recipe. wire, pattern, tension, baseplate, pole pieces... lots of things go into making a pup sound a certain way

Yeah, if all things were the same, you can sort of tell how a magnet might affect the sound. But some winds are so different, and there are many roads to the same sound.
