Okay, so...I need some clarification on this. As far as I was concerned, there was "modern" and "50's" style wiring. Then, someone had to go and say "modern volume with 50's tone" and confuse the hell outta me. Can somebody extrapalate?
As far as I can tell/see, Slash's Derrig has "50's" style wiring....no?

Very cool of Ace to send that and share it. That's awesome.
I have a Slash neck paired with a Screamin' Demon in my Frankenstrat. To those who have not tried the Slash, do it and do it now. You will not be sorry. It is probably the best sounding and feeling neck pickup I have ever used.
I have the slash set in an 81 LP Custom (maple neck, ebony board). They sound great, the only ones I tried that sounded good in that guitar. Bridge pickup is pretty good, but the neck is phenomenal.

May I ask you how's the ''bass'' on your pickups set? I got a set, but I just don't feel the bass at all. All mids & treble!
They really are clear and low output pickups.
I have my Slash set wired 50s on the neck and modern in the bridge. This is just what worked best for me personally. The Slash neck pickup is quite possibly the best neck pickup I have ever owned.
