Re: Slaves Of God

That's pretty kick ass dude!

That you on vocals?

Thanks man. :)

Yeah, me on "vocals", first and last time I ever do that. I'm happy singing normal rock/metal style but this song needed that so I had to give it a try. Not as bad as I'd feared, but not the Glen Benton/David Vincent type growl I wish could have been on it :D

That's pretty damn good for a first time. I thought it went great with the song.

Oh, the pickup is a JBJ for anyone interested in that sort of thing :)

Re: Slaves Of God

It's really great to see you back, mang!

Thanks buddy. I don't really play much guitar any more these days, I've been playing mandolin and 12 string acoustic and singing folk/rock stuff for the past few months, so I haven't really been online.

Re: Slaves Of God

Reminds me a lot of Carcass and Death. sounds great dude! Vox reminded me a bit of Nathan Explosion from Dethklok...not my favourite kind of DM vox lol

I didn't really hear the Carcass or Death influence but they - particularly Death - were two of my first DM bands, I still listen to them a LOT, so yeah, well spotted. :)
Thanks for listening everyone.

Re: Slaves Of God

This is bollocks! "Slaves of God" was at number 15 in Soundclick's metal chart and number 3 in the sub-category charts for death/black metal. This morning, its jumped to number 7 in the metal chart, and, on that basis I was expecting to have it at number 1 in the death/black chart - but for some reason it's listing as number 999,999 and isn't on the death/black chart page!
WTF?! I don't get anything for it, other than a sense of achievement, but I would have been quite chuffed to see my song at number 1 in a chart of over 20,000 songs!!! (As it is, number 7 out of over 100,000 songs isn't too shabby). Merry Easter!

They've sorted the problem, it's at number 1 in the death metal chart, not bad for a guy in a room with 10 year out of date software and hardware! Thanks for listening guys :)
