Slow Beckish track (smooth Tele)

Re: Slow Beckish track (smooth Tele)

Wow, amazing ambiance. Nobody does it better than you do Marin. I could listen to this for hours while working. Awesome! Is the the neck or the bridge pickup? Sorry, I know zip about Tele's. The tone make me want to buy one.

i like that alot mr marin ... tasty tone and phrases .. your leading and trailing note choices are always so evocative ... i like how you alter dynamics inside your phrases .. i fear that too many of my phrases start loud and get soft, or start soft then get loud ... you seem to effortlessly be able to take it up and down within a phrase to great effect

if i hit the lottery, i am going to produce a CD of you, scott lerner, and a few others :D

be ready :D

cheers

thanks Sly.

A Telecaster has 2 pickups and 3 positions: neck, middle and bridge. I use all three throughout the tune. When I switch to bridge, I tend to roll off the treble knob. My right hand almost always on the pickup bridge/tone controls if it's not picking.

thanks T4D!

A good guy to learn dynamics from is Larry Carlton. He's just ace.

Thanks man.

The pickups are Kinman Broadcaster, an overwound, noiseless Telecaster set. Pretty good for recording and don't have the "icepick in the ear" thing.

They don't have the vintage shrill, but I don't hear that anyway when I record.

That was AWESOME. You are such a wicked player.

Thanks very much. Like everyone else, when I am relaxed and lucky, I manage to get some inspiration.

It's a great tune. The pacing and phrasing are great, just like the others said. I love that tone.

thanks, that's really nice of ya. I used my Telecaster with a Boss amp simulator.

Re: Slow Beckish track (smooth Tele)

Nice clip, Marin :D You're getting a really nice gritty sound from that Boss setup. Very cool dynamics and phrasing, as others have noted. I dig!

Re: Slow Beckish track (smooth Tele)

Lovely, lovely playing, you got the Beck vibe just right.
Were did you get the backing track?
