Looking for a heavy fuzzy bluesy tone
Looking to overhaul an SG with some custom customs and P-rails into a undecided amp as of now (upgrading from a fender frontman 25r). have a fuzz but honestly with this genre a second might not be a bad idea to add some varety of flavor as it is almost always on, gonna pick up a tube screamer.
Basically im looking for some fuzz and gain stage/boost suggestions, maybe a delay, modulation, and well... any suggestions from someone with a bit more experience with the genre.

Re: Sludge/Bluesy Metal

Check out a proco Rat. Pretty sure I have the rat 2 and i'm pretty happy with it for sabbathy stuff, doom/sludge/stoner whatever the **** you want to call it. I've been boosting it with a mxr classic od for a little bit more and to tighten it up some or a blues driver to make it a little bigger

Re: Sludge/Bluesy Metal

A tube screamer works great as a boost, especially because the TS boosts the mids. I have mine on no drive and you can adjust the level and tone to your taste.

Re: Sludge/Bluesy Metal

Just plug straight into this :bigthumb:

Aka....killer sludge & Sabbath tone on a budget :D It's basically an Artec 'Crazy Metal' distortion pedal with a custom paint job..

Re: Sludge/Bluesy Metal

Check out the fairly new Carcosa fuzz (try to watch both of Andy's Proguitar Shop videos, it has a pretty huge range of tones, from sludgy stoner metal to splatty aggressive fuzz to tight rock/blues sounds)
