Re: SM-1 / SM-3 mini humbucker differences?
I have an SM-3n in a Tele neck slot, but I haven't tried an SM-1n. The construction of these two pickups is a little different according to the SD info, and the EQ listing is a little different. I went with the SM-3n because it was available stock with 4-conductor wiring, and I wasn't sure whether the 2-conductor SM-1n would mate well with a Fender CS Nocaster lead pickup. I can say that the SM-3n is a very nice pickup, with a nice full tone that captures elements of a good HB and a good SC.
