THANK´S in ADVANCE
do you think it will fit the emgs !?

Re: Small Control Cavity. Will The EMGS fit in Here!?!?

Well, there is a VERY easy way to figure that out.

Try to put a battery in the cavity. See if it fits.

Re: Small Control Cavity. Will The EMGS fit in Here!?!?

The 9V probally will probally not fit!

Re: Small Control Cavity. Will The EMGS fit in Here!?!?

You could also rearrange the springs in the trem cavity and slip it in there on edge, if the control is too small.

On the Eric Clapton strat they put the battery in the trem cavity

Re: Small Control Cavity. Will The EMGS fit in Here!?!?

Plenty of room, the only extra space is a 9V battery. Just take one as suggested and play with it. Also, remember the EMG 25k pots are much smaller than regular 500k pots, so there will be more room made in that regard.

+1, the EMG wiring itself is no more bulky than passive wiring ;)

And if there´s room for the battery in the Micro-rout of a KE-3, I think you should be able to make it fit just about anywhere ;)

While this is certainly a possibility, be warned that it will change the feel of the trem, and the uneven tension required to create the space (all the strings will essentially be on the bass side, making the treble feel loose and the bass feel tighter) may not be something you can get used to... Worth a shot in a pinch, but not something I´d necessarily recommend if you´re happy with the way the axe plays....

Piece of cake. You just have to lay the battery flat on top of the volume pot area. It will easily fit in both, as I have done Ibanez Sabers and basses with little, thin Jazz Bass style routes like your second guitar has. BUT you have to route all the wires around the sides of the pots. Don't let them be all over the place. If there are no wires above the pot's depth, then I can see both cavities easily accomodating a 9-volt on top of the vol pot area.

Even if your wiring is a mess, you could probably still fit the battery up on it's side next to that 3-way toggle, or between the volume pot and the 5-way in the Ibanez.

Quit crying and clean up those cavities!

Btw... Did someone put EMGs in a RG550 / pickguarded Ibanez (RG)?

****ing Hails Marcel!
i was about to put one in my ex guitar an Rg450ltd. ahahahah
but i sold it before installing the emgs.

Re: Small Control Cavity. Will The EMGS fit in Here!?!?

You should be able to make it work, you've got plenty of room compared to what my V-250 has, i'm running 2 9vs and no switch, lol, I wouldn't be able to make it fit if I had one.
