Here ya go ... it's called ENGL PREAMP CLIPS.
This is the TOC-1 going right into the preamp ... preamp directly into a 1x12 cabinet ... mic was a BLUE The Ball.

Mhm... it's a pretty clear tone there, no mud and that. I really like it.
That's 500 euros only for a 'half' tube amp though, and without even a poweramp
But I guess for room level it's perfect. I'll see if they have it here in the UK and give it a try. Thanks a lot!

For the clip I recorded, I only had the clean volume at about 2.5 and the hi gain volume at about 2 ... plenty of room for volume! You would not want to gig with only 1W, you'll run out of steam, but for playing at home it's great, because the limited wattage gives you a kind of natural compression that makes it easy to dial in high gain sounds with virtually no volume.

Unfortunately, it's expensive and not too versatile. Thanks a bunch for the tips though. I just developped a Rack gear GAS
I think it'll be the non reverb/loop version of the LC15 with a clean boost on it. Cheaper, more versatile, easier to get and test too.
