Smaller hollowbody or semihollow?

Re: Smaller hollowbody or semihollow?

Tried the Cort M-800? It's a full hollow that doesn't cost too much. I think it sounds and plays better than the Ibanezes, too.

That's not a true hollow because it has a stoptail. It's a semi. But I dig semi's, love 335's.

Ibanez just came out with these...Artcore ADJ91 in cocobola...looks nice.

Ibanez also used to put out an Artcore AM73, which is simpler looking than the new AM models. (google for a pic) There should be a few used inexpensive ones on the market.

Ibanez Artcore (AGD, AGS, AG). Those things are crazy great guitars for the price. Hell,I wouldn't even change the stock pickups!

I'd also check out the discontinued Yamaha SA500's as well. You can find them on ebay for around the price you're looking at. Although, those are standard 335 type body sizes, which is bigger than you're looking for, so may ixnay on that one.

I had an artcore for a few years and I hated it. I changed out everything on it, asa matter of fact it was how I found the SD forum, and it still played and sounded like chit to me. I went with the Epiphone and was pleased with it.
but then again I am a Tele man, so maybe I was asking it to do something that it wasn't intended to do.

Which model did you have?

This one:

AS73 in brown. I tried to sell it forever and finally traded it on the Epi.

I had one of those in trans-red and also had an Epi Alleykat at the same time. I never liked the pickups in the AS-73, and I could never trust the bridge on the Epi not to break a string, even after a trip to the tech. When I found this Artstar AS-120, I traded both of them in for the one better guitar.

Now my friend in CT has it, and I have a G&L Asat.;)

Ibanez has a new AM series guitar (AM103BM) that is super nice...burled maple top, violin finish, nice pickups, wooden knobs and a small LP sized body.

Or look up one of the older AM-205 guitars from the early 80s...when I look at this, I could be happy with it as my only guitar...

This would do nicely, too...

And another version...

No better bang for the buck than an Ibanez. :fing2:

That Cort, Erlend posted looks sweet too. Probably made by the same company that makes Ibanez.

Re: Smaller hollowbody or semihollow?

I went and bought an Ibanez AF75. It's awesome. I tried out a bunch of hollow and semihollow guitars, and this AF75 was the best match to my preferences.
