Love Line 6 and everything that they do. Amps fry... it happens, no mass manufacturer of budget electronics can boast of zero defects.

Never heard of Line 6 having a poor reputation... they have their detractors, but they are essentially as good as any other company operating today.

I've used tubes that were made in China before. Some of the 12ax7s are ok.

Sometimes you get lucky when you hold down all the channel buttons and power it up. It resets the logic.

Or, you clean out all the jacks on it with contact cleaner and a Q Tip.

When a modeler is about 10 years old, the jacks start creating problems. We're just now finding this out, since modelers are coming close to becoming vintage.

If one can make a Line 6 work for them, that's cool. But they are not something one should buy without trying first.

What doth thou speaketh? I bought my PODX3 Live pedalboard sight unseen and sound unheard... I've been nothing but extremely happy with it for the last 6 years. It hasn't given me one problem or glitch yet (knocks on wood).

it's a combo (1x12) and it has a footswitch with a bunch of different settings/effects. he told me it was one of the top line 6 models.

This works on the Blue Vox series,but does it work on the Line 6 product in question? I have never liked the Line 6 amp products I've tryed..

Doubtful it was top of the line. The 30w spider is a 112 as is the 70w. Neither of which is anywhere near top of the line.

Top of the line would be a spider valve, the 112 version of that is 40w from (2) 6L6 and has a v30. That would be plenty to hang in most situations.

So not only does your comment about Chinese made amps not hold water (the JCA100HDM full stack in my first post is Chinese made, and would likely blow whatever it is you play through out of the water), your comment doesn't even hold true for Line 6 amps

have you ever heard a JCA100?

they sound great, even compared to US built handwired boutique stuff.

Considering it's built in China, that makes its tone even more impressive.
