So do wah's effect tone when not engaged?

i just unplugged my dunlop wah and my tone seems to be much brighter. Not sure if I hit some tone knobs on my pedals or what. Do they suck tone normally?

Non true bypass wahs suck gain and top end...it's typical.

If you want to "correct" that just mod the wah for true bypass.

the true bypass mod I think makes the pedal sound even better, though
