So few Gibson LP knockoffs w/ mini hums?

So many guitar makers have a dual humbucker guitar based off of a LP. Hamer, PRS, McNaught, ESP......the list goes on. Why so few LP Deluxe knockoffs with MINI-BUCKERS? Seems like someone could improve on this configuration nicely. I will say the Taylor electrics show promise and are much nicer than I expected.

Not much effort put into developing mini-HB's. Gibson doesn't even calibrate theirs for neck vs bridge. With the weak selection of PU's, the demand has got to be effected.

I think a mini-HB is a good choice for a neck PU, with a full-size HB in the bridge. Same goes with a P-90/HB pair too. How do we get the guitar manufacturers to be a little more creative in their PU choices? Everything doesn't have to be HH, HSS, HSH, or SSS. There are more choices. Geez.

People don't seem to be interested in mini's as much as in dual 'buckers. I think it's simply a lack of demand.

There are a few Epiphone LP deluxes floating around out there, but nothing else I've seen really is that close to the original. I would like to find something in this department too. Of course you can always get a p90 routed Les Paul clone and put mini-hums in it.

I was scoping out an Epi Elite 335 Dota while back... I didn't get it becuz it had the mini buckers...

I avoid anything that is odd sized. If you decide you are not happy with it, you are stuck with it. I don't like taking a router to a pretty guitar like one of the Taylors.

The only other guitar manufacture I know of that offered minihumbucker equipped guitars was G&L. They were their own thing and had nothing in common with Gibson's offering. I'm a big fan of both companies mini's.

Here's a few of my minihumbucker equipped guitars:

The G&L, Cavaliers are rare guitars, and the HG-2 is an extremely rare guitar. I have a third Cavalier that is a project guitar. Mini's have a nice tone that is in between a single coil and a full size humbucker.

Geez, a mini-HB fanatic. First I've heard of. And you have a Firebird, right?

Re: So few Gibson LP knockoffs w/ mini hums?

i loved the sound of my original mini's in my 76 LP Deluxe... saddly they were also extremely microphonic even after potting by a great tech... all thru the 90's you couldn't get replacements from most makers for some reason.. so i stuck in a set of the Duncan Minis but didn't like the chrome cover without screws look on those... i did buy a set of Gibson Minis a few years back from their more recent reissue line...

Oneday i'm taking those original LP Deluxe PU's back in and see if they can stop the squeels...
