This thing is seriously over the top cool. Dyed green flame by yours truly, nitro finish over Honduras mahogany, bound body, figured mahogany neck...
Anyway, debating pickups for this thing. Standard H H layout for an LP. Possibly using a grapthech ghost and acoustaphonic for the bridge. (I have yet to decide if I want to bother with that, Though I think I will do the ground on the stoptail rather than the bridge anyway to give myself options...)
So what pickups should I put in this?
Thoughts I have.
Black Winters. I know them and I know they would be a fantastic choice. However, I am leaning towards this guitar being slightly more oriented towards celtic and rock. I have multiple guitars with this set in it.
Saturday night Special set. I don't play 70s rock, however these sound intriguing.
Seth lovers. I haven't owned a set.
Pearly gates always sound great, but I have never played them in an LP ever.
I have a custom set of Wilde l610s which might be a good choice.
Something else...
I want something cool, something different. I like oddball pickups. I do require that they be mountable in angled LP rings. This rules out SLUG and my silverbird.
I haven't ruled out the zephyrs or a custom shop model... or anything really.
I basically want something that is different from what I have, that I like, probably moderate or low output.
for the same reason I am doubting I will put that graphtech bridge on, I don't do active pickups. (If I do I will have to wire up a power source as I don't do batteries.) Sorry Frank, I am sure fluence is an amazing platform by the clips, but I am the grim reaper of batteries and until I figure out why, I am avoiding actives.
