All right, all right, all right!
Took it for a quick initial spin. Lonestar Strat > H&K TM18 > Flint in Loop > Peavey SX112 (Their GT75 type speaker)
Tremolo:
1. Harmonic - This may be the Harmonic Tremolo to make me really dig them. Did everything from Chorus to Phase to Vibey sounds. Maybe not the greatest Harmonic tremolo....but very useful and nice sounds. I did a reasonable facsimile of the Scorpions "Coming Home" intro. More exploration needed here. And on Harmonic Tremolo in general....
2. Tube - Like it. Nothing amaze balls. Speed knob seemed a little tweaky, sensitive at the slower speeds. No idea what the top RPM is but I suspect very fast
3. Photo - Off the cuff, this seems to be their Square Wave excuse. Not the squarest of square. We'll see.
* Bear in mind, I am a hard core tremolo geek, so from a non-tremolo person's point of view, this is a pretty decent set of the stuff you you might ever want need. The Harmonic is a nice addition.
Reverb:
1. 60s - Sounds like a Spring verb. Initially, I don't think it will hold up to my Tre-verb. I wasn't particularly Wowed by it as a Spring reverb. It's definitely decent and springy though. Drip conneseurs may not be a fan.
2. 70's - Plate reverb. Not the most Platey of plates, but a nice general reverb. I'd use it for lots of stuff.
3. 80's - Lexicon Hall? Don't think so....The decay and Mix settings do a lot here though. At the longer/larger side of things, it gets modulated on infinite feedbacks etc. Very ambient. At lower levels and mix, yeah, it's a big reverb. I'd probably use the plate more though. Just smoother.
I really like the decay/mix controls tuning here. Easy to really work a desired sound. The color knob does what they do - dark/bright.
So, in context, remembering this thing was available over a decade ago (2012), it would be pretty sporty for the times. The only other player in the zone then was the VHT Melo Verb, maybe? This is a V1, mind you. So, all in all, the sound quality is good, the pedal is solid, in/stereo outs, and an expression option. Three distinct tremolo sounds, three reverbs. I get why people love this.
Uber-Tremolo/Reverb junkies will have some problems from whatever side they are Uberish about. But definitely a pretty useful pedal.
Metal guy could easily use the Photo/Hall to have serious fuzzed out chops and a nice hall reverb
Blues guy is using the Tube/Spring combo
More later. Can['t wait to A/B this with my Tre-verb
