So I scalloped my RG 1527

Re: So I scalloped my RG 1527

doing that work in my mind is better by hand then machines... i may finnish the scallop job on my old Kramer and refret it someday... i'll most likely just use files and sandpaper myself... The guy that scallop this poor Kramer went way too deep... i'll try and save it and add some more inlays...

Yesss!!!:D
Maybe you can sand the whole fretboard down ,get some nice piece of Ebony/Maple ,and frett it as you wish...
I would like to see some pics on this process :D

DB, could you perhaps post a side view pic to give us an idea of the depth of the scalloping and how it looks?

Yeah ofcourse. But it's night here and i can d it maybe tomorrow.
I adjust the depth with the G string on 1. fret. When i puh the string dow ,i bend it a half note!

Cool, well I eagerly await the pic:)
Always loved the RG1527, but other than the Apex model and the RG7321, none of the other Ibanez 7 strings are easy to find in Melbourne:(

i pulled it out of it's box yesterday to take a look at it.... with some fine tuning and a complete refret i'm sure the neck can be saved... the body being Plywood sucks so i may use a homemade body for it... it'll be a lot of work i imagine

Re: So I scalloped my RG 1527

here a pic...sorry too crappy light :( The asymmetry was planned ,since i don't finger the frets at those points.

There are allways hard to find everywhere!!!
The one i first tried was the 7321 ,and i loved the neck.So i ordered a 1527 since I wanted a trem...

If you don't need 24 fretts ,get the S7320...Better bang for the buck!
