......and came home with this, annother Taylor. I need some serious help.

Once again I make the mistake of looking, and then the bigger mistake of asking what kind of deal we could make. It's just the damn salesman in me. More pics to follow in my next post. I'm now going to have get rid of one. ARGH!

.

Take a look at the difference in the inlays and the headstock. So far I can't tell a difference tonally, but one of them will have to go. Look for a thread in the Trading Post before I go to eBay.

Re: So I Went To Get Some Strings, Stand And A Frickin' Strap....

I really do need to get my head examined. I had been watching a 30th Anniversary Taylor on eBay, and it's a damn good deal. I was a little leary of buying without playing, but hadn't played a bad Taylor yet. So I decided to look up annother Tayor dealer, and found one about 45 minutes east of Charlotte. I walked in and asked if they had a 30th I could play. The intention was to see how I liked it, and then watch the eBay acution.

The guy asks if I like it after a while and I say, yeah...it plays like a dream. So he says what would it take for you to take it home with you. I told him honestly that I was watching one on eBay that was brand new and the asking price was $1350 (opening bid is actually $1300, BIN is $1500, so reserve falls somewhere in the middle more than likely). He went and got his handy dandy calculator and starting doing the math. He damn near matched the price, and since I'd played the guitar and loved it, I snapped.

I had to pay tax on this one, which was about $90. I would have had to pay shipping from an eBay auction of around $30-40. So it cost me a few more dollars in exchange for being able to hold, inspect and play the guitar before plunking down my $$. That's worth a few dollars to me. Besides that, I got to spend my $$ locally, in a small mom and pop store that will service the bejesus out of me should I ever require it.

Now if some one could just point me towards a free mental health evaluator! I really do have to sell one of these, and it will more than likely be the 02' on the right.

You need to buy my extra Taylor, and one of those Munchkin kittens. I've still got 2 of those on the way, and they're not completely paid for. :smack:

I seriously think I'll be getting a couple of those kittens. Both my wife and my mom are begging for one. Thanks for that...........................:) I've got a nice Taylor already, but if Im not careful I could see myself buying another. :smack: God help me.

Re: So I Went To Get Some Strings, Stand And A Frickin' Strap....

You're not married, are you?

Damn dude I've only spent money like that twice... when i bought my car and when I bought my halfstack.

Hey van you buy me a Bogner Ecstasy and a EBMM Silo Special while you're at it? lol

Re: So I Went To Get Some Strings, Stand And A Frickin' Strap....

Can you ask your wife to have a chat with mine???? :)

ANYWAY: Same guitar all around....same electronics etc????

I personally like the darker one, whichever that is. The grain on the back is very nice & I like the inlays better. Is that the one that "says" 30th Anniversary? That one might have a better resale value just because it says it....although you probably won't have a problem selling either!

BTW I'm glad you found a nice Mom & Pop Shop locally. They're becoming obsolete around me & you're right, they'll treat you like a member of the family everytime you show up.............SO YOU MIGHT WANNA KEEP THE ONE YOU BOUGHT FROM THEM!!! :laugh2:

How much would you sell the non-30th anniversary one for?
