And yes, I am married B2D....the secret is all in the training. Get em' young and break em' in the way you like em'. Well ok, that's not true. I am very fortunate to have a wife who doesn't give me grief about my gear purchases. Besides, I've got the $$ to pay for either Taylor, so I'll have the extra one sold and have the $$ in hand by the time the credit card bill arrives.

The wife and daughter are going to get haircuts and manicures next weekend as part of their reward. It's all about balance, they get some things they want, I get to do pretty much what I want, and everyone is happy. Perception is reality, and I just do my best to make sure that the wife gets to enjoy some nicer things and has some toys that she likes. Thank goodness she does not have expensive taste like me! Usually $50-$100 dollars keeps here more than happy.

Ok cool LOL I thought so but after the Taylor Twins showed up I wasn;t sure ;)

Thats really cool you have a spouse who can appreciate and understand your passion in life. Plus the balance thing works out well too... I met a customer working the other day in the t-shirt shop (I brought my MIA FR Strat and my Micro Cube in so me and my co-worker could entertain ourselves in the dead hours of the evening) and he noticed my guitar and got into a conversation. Turns out his wife has a sweet tooth for diamond jewelry so every time she gets a ring or a set of earrings or a bracelet or whatever, he gets a gear purchase of equal or lesser value... and vice versa. They were what I call DINKs (Double Income, No Kids) so luckily they can afford to do that haha.

But man even if I did have that kind of money my mom and pop would've started sh*ttin' Frisbees if I had come home with ONE of those :laugh2:

Nice work... I feel pretty guilty about the Taylor review I gave before you bought the first one... NOW YOU'VE GOT 2!!!! I'd keep the one with Taylor's Expression System. Have you compared/reviewed the two of them plugged in? I'd really like to know what you think about the pre-amp differences.

By the way, what does your wife think about that Avatar!?!?!?! That's a very clever diversion... get her pissed-off at some soft-porn... then spending thousands on gear doesn't seem so bad!!!!

I am keeping the one with the Expression system, as much for esthetics as sound. I only have a Marshall JCM 800 and a Blues Jr. to plug into, so I'm not sure that I can really tell the difference, but I'm going to give it a whirl this week. The Expression system is really supposed to shine when plugging directly into the board on a PA. It even comes with a 15' 1/4" to XLR cord. I'm not sure that it will greatly outshine the Fishman when running thru the amp. If anything, the Fishman has at least a 3 band eq, in addition to phase switching, brigtness, ect...which the expression system does not.

Unplugged, they are so similar tonally that it's hard for me to tell the difference. If anything, the 02' (darker one in the pic) may have just a touch more low end, but it's negligable. They also have different gauge strings on them as well, so that's a factor.

As for the avitar, the wife doesn't mind and has never gotten upset about stuff like that, or going to strip clubs with the guys. Her attitude is that it makes no difference where you get your appetite, as long as you eat at home.

Hee Hee.....the wife was actually present for both purchases. She's the one that talked me into the 2nd Taylor. I loved it so much, and she said I'd always think about the 30th when I played the other one. Not that it's less of a guitar in any manner, I was just in love with the 30th.
