So I'm new to swapping magnets...

Hello all. I've been doing lots of guitar mods lately, like phase and series/parallel switches, 1 meg pots...nothing too crazy. But I'm new to actually altering the pickup itself. If I were to swap magnets between an SH-4 and an SH-6, is there any way to know what kind of tone I'd get or would I just have to wait and see? I know how the magnet affects the tone, but I'm not sure about the winding and other factors. I don't quite see why an SH4 with an SH6's ceramic magnet wouldn't just become an SH6 itself. Can anyone give me some pointers or give me a link to a good site?

I know i'm a noob, please be gentle :nervous:

The wind is the same. The difference is the mag. The big ceramic will give the dist more output and mids. The DC reistance will remain the same. But more output.
There is a link on this site somewhere about changing mags

I'm a little confused. Does that mean that if I put the SH6's magnet into an SH4, that the SH4 simply becomes an SH6?
