carving the top is a royal pain in the ass, good luck bro. i chose a beautiful piece of hard maple that was a nightmare to carve when i was building a les paul style guitar

Long tenon old school replica. I may not make everything exactly like a '59 but it's starting out that way.

I've given a lot of thought to the top carving. There are a few methods to ease the pain of carving a top none of which ease enough pain. lol

I'm going to cheat. I have a friend with a duplicarver and he has offered to let me use it. Should make that part of the build a little more painless. I'm going to use my buddies R9 as the template.

Starting off as a '59 replica. I'm going to deviate from a couple of things but it will end up being a Les Paul. At first I was going to add the Gibson logo and everything but now I've changed my mind.

I would love to have one but I doubt I will produce enough guitars to make it worthwhile. If the duplicarver thing goes well I may consider purchasing one of those.
