So I've got this wood laying around...

It looks like mahogany, or it could be that, or redwood, or teak. Anyway, I have an abundance of it for free, and as much as I love my Lp. Jr, I want something a little more genuine and different. So here's what I came up with:

Like? Don't like? Suggestions? Ideas?

I like the red, with no pickguard.

Geez, you guys make me feel lazy for just "buying" guitars instead of building them.

I should spend more time playing, but custom guitars... man I gotta do that someday...

Re: So I've got this wood laying around...

Red with pick guard...or black without.

Check out Aerodyne Teles to see something close.

You should be able to tell mahogany, redwood, and teak apart quickly just by process of elimination. Mahogany is very recognizable, as is redwood.

red + pickguard for me too.

Looks all kinds of classy.

Re: So I've got this wood laying around...

i like the red with the guard.

building guitars takes a lot of patience and practice and can get really expensive (especially if you don't have all the tools) not trying to discourage you or anything but just letting you know what you're in for. good luck and post the progress on here with lots of pics :D

p.s make one of each if you have an abundance :D

I like the red and black both with pickguard. I gotta say, that's a cool ass looking design.

love them all - let me know of you need help getting started building them.

Something wrong with a man who has unused wood laying around. Use it or lose it! :D

Re: So I've got this wood laying around...

I like the red with the pickguard but I can't help but think a white pearl pickguard would look really nice.

EDIT: Just checked them out, the black Tele with the P-90 in the neck is HAWTT!!
