So my Custom 8 string multiscale custom kelly becomes real

Re: So my Custom 8 string multiscale custom kelly becomes real

Definitely a Telecaster set, paint it all in a butterscotch is finish to cover all the grain, put some foam at the end of the headstock and the body to not hurt people, have a three way, MV/Tone, vintage frets (must have), and play it at about nipple height of course.

And the strings very, very high, with a slide or some chicken picking.

But eh... it's your axe man :D

Hahahaha ,that was the ebst post zuahuahuahuahuah :bling:

Man ,this axe is a real AXE lol. You can really beat the crap out of someone and continue playing IN TUNE :14:

Re: So my Custom 8 string multiscale custom kelly becomes real

I guess you don't go to Sevenstring.org then:laugh2:

Hahah.
It's funny sometimes how "extremely unorthodox" stuff for SD people could be " casual" for SS.org people LOL.

The Internet is sooo cool!:D:friday:

Edit: Why did you change your username on multiple Forums to multiple other usernames LOL. It's confusing ! :chairfall

Nice! I love the idea of fanned frets and since Zerb says that when you play one, it is almost like you wondered why they were not standard that way anyway, I am intrigued even more.

Re: So my Custom 8 string multiscale custom kelly becomes real

It's a PITA thing to do ,when you don't have the proper tools and workshop. It took ver y long for me to sand down with different sanding papers. I learned alot and I learned to give a huge respect to the Luthiers LOL.:bling:

ha, yea.
BTW ,if it's you on your avatar ,I am shure you would like Fanned frets for that playing position. Much easy going on the wrist ,and more precision on the chords.:friday:

That is me, but I don't play in that position constantly. thats an odd shot of me sitting on my couch playing for family. lol but I still want to try out fanned frets soon.

You might even play it.
I'll be in Toronto around new years eve ,and would like to visit NY and maybe DC.
I'll have the guitar with me I assume!
Cheers!

Glad to confuse you:laugh2:
I'm phasing the HughesJB4 name out since it's not really representative of me anymore (I Used to use JB pickups exclusively, but I actually don't use them anymore and have no plans to buy another set, so I wanted a change of name, I know, it's weird but it's like that).
I'm still HughesJB4 at metalguitarist.org but I don't post there a lot since I often forget because I'm here or at SS.org too much :laugh2:
It's just straight out Harry at SS.org since it was available and I'm well known enough around those parts I don't need any internet persona thing going on, but at Ultimate Metal.com/forums and a few other places I couldn't register under the name Harry since it was taken, so I chose the second option, which is the name you see here.

Re: So my Custom 8 string multiscale custom kelly becomes real

I can already see the 8 becoming boring for you because it doesn´t have a floyd, and the steps to 9 and ten coming soon as a result, before you ultimately end up with one of these..

:laugh2::beerchug:

Then again, a seven string with a 4 string bass is only half doing it, so I guess you´d actually wind up with a 12 string after all :D

Re: So my Custom 8 string multiscale custom kelly becomes real

I think you are asking for a world of trouble scalloping a fanned fretboard.

Why so?
It's not that much extra work. I could do it myself with a good sanding machine and a small workshop.
