I just saw something similar on CL. Can't you just wipe down the guitar after playing? My first reaction is to burn these to save the rest of the world from whatever has infected them.
yeah, I give him my guitar to try once in a while at band practice and he when he gives it back to me the neck and fretboard would always be soaked with sweat, and that's only after 10~15 minutes of test driving too lol
there are many more stories about the guy's sweaty corrosive palms, like a few years ago when he started playing he had this SX strat with an unfinished maple neck. after a few weeks of playing the fretboard on that thing would go blue from grimes building up.

yes during practice he always has two, yes TWO small towels, one to wipe his hands and one to wipe the strings/hardware every once in a while. that still didn't save the epiphone from rusting because he plays it so much everyday. his gibbies on the other hand are pretty well taken care of, after destroying one set of bridge and tailpiece on his custom shop R0 he's learned to replace all the nickel pieces with chrome so they don't rust.
