So one of my tracks just got professional sound production (heavy metal)

Hey everyone, recently I uploaded something I'm really excited about. I started a collaboration with a very good friend of mine who is a music producer and we decided to work together on the final tracks for my demos CD and re-do some of the tracks I already posted in demo quality before.

The first track in this collaboration is a re-release of Apocalyptic Visions, a heavy metal track I first posted in demo quality on Dec. of 2013 (I posted it here as well) that now got the sound (and the drums!) it deserves. I'm really excited about it, and hope you will dig the recording as well

Sounds great man, cool balanced, punchy mix..the drums are good ...sweet tone & chops... :)

cool! what does your producer friend use for polishing the recordings? did you play the drums on that electronic drumset?

If you're happy with the drum sound, I guess that's all that matters.

true dat

I was just wondering if a drummer was involved as it sounded great and I really want an electronic drumset...or if it was drum programming

What amp is that - I like the rhythm tone

He used a lot of EQs and compressors. Recording took about 2 days of work, mixing it took around 7. He put a huge effort in this.

He "played" most of the drums on his keyboard. That was quite entertaining to watch.

It was recorded direct to soundcard and Matan (the producer) applied EQs, compressors and probably other stuff I don't know of. We're trying a different approach for the next one, will see how will that work out.

I remember this one. Good, love the guitar tracks! Maybe just more drum/bass and I would love it even more!
Listened to another of your tracks and I can hear the difference in production. Much tighter sounding with the additional work done. It is worth it. Now, if I can only figure out how to do that from my tower system...
Listening to the produced version again, and love the way that it is produced. Almost want to say nevermind what I said earlier about the drum/bass. But then, being a bass player, I always want to hear more bass.

I guess more bass is (almost) always better :D
We are working now on a ~9 mins kind of proggy track, really looking forward to see the sound he will do on that one
