So this happened - Dragon's Heart

So I ordered a custom engraved Dragon's Heart GT pick to test them out...
Let me show you why they are a great company:

[...]We engraved two picks with your image because I did not like the quality of the first one we did. I thought it would be best to include it with your order at no extra charge rather than letting it go to waste. Just a little bonus for you. The first attempt is in the red package.
[...]

This was in the letter accompanying my order.

So I basically got two picks for the price of one, and let me tell you, both engravings are high quality, and I wouldn't have even thought about making a second try, because the first one already looks so good!

Now for the most important part - the playing:
I admit, its kinda wierd when you're first playing with this shape, because it's unlike any shape I've played before, and it takes one or two hours to get used to. But oh boy, when you've figured it out, man, those picks play like heaven! Superb grip, and excellent glide across the strings! The tip is a tad rounder than you're typical large Dunlop tortex-stuff (played the 208 Jazz pick before), but it keeps being round even after some heavy usage! This thing is probably going to outlive me in terms of wear-resistance. Also, the sound of the pick (I got the GT version) is rather bright, but it's not harsh like a metal pick or so, still a natural sound but it gives a clear and defined tone in comparision to standart picks.

If you couldn't tell already, I'm probably going to throw all my old picks into a bag and store them for "later". And if you haven't tried those yet, do it now, it's only ~9$ a pick, which is going to outlive packs of regular picks so it's easily worth the money!

I've also made a pic showing the difference between the "messed up one" and the good one...left is "bad", right is good:

Re: So this happened - Dragon's Heart

Interesting. After years of sticking to the Dunlop Gators, Tortex and Ultex 1.15 mm picks, I've been experimenting with a variety of the V-picks in different shapes and thicknesses. Their Red Rockers have a real traditional feel, and they're really grippy.

Picks are always fun to experiment with.
