So this is my plan...

I finally got my MIJ Les Paul Custom (which is kickass btw), unfortunetly I got an extra ding in it when I got it (mystery) but I got an extra $150 back so it turned out to be a good deal. Anyways. I have a brand new black JB laying around that I had planned on putting in the Les Paul but now I'm thinking about taking the Duncan Custom from my SG and putting that in the Les Paul and putting the JB in my SG.

From what I've heard the Duncan Custom works very well in the Les Paul because of the extra high's it mights make it a bit brighter and punchier.

And the thought was that the midrange boost in the JB would give the thing bodied SG a little thicker tone?

You guys' thoughts?

I'd say put the JB in the LP. It should have more highs than the Custom.

I'm thinking that if you put the Custom in the LP, and the JB in the SG, it might end up making the SG sound really thin, as the Custom sounds thicker than a JB, and an LP is already thicker sounding than an SG. It's good to keep balance.

But hell, try both! Or make a Custom/JB hybrid and have the ceramic mag in the SG, and the A5 one in the LP.

The Jb would work great on a LP shaped guitar and, if you already like that Custom/59 combo, then just leave it alone. Things that work shouldn't be touch unless curiosity it's moving you. Then go ahead!! :D
