I've done an awful lot of swapping and tone chasing since Tommy Doyle wound me my first bespoke PAF set in '76.
Haven't made a spreadsheet but I'd estimate my loose pickup inventory at about 120.
Mostly humbuckers. Couple of dozen singles - mostly Strat, a handful of Tele.
Plus a box of oddities and one or two dead -but-possibly-repairable.
About a quarter of 'em are pulls - sellable but not worth the trouble so far, or nearly-worthless stock pickups.
Another twenty or so are intended for specific guitars in my fleet; just haven't got around to trying 'em there yet.
A few dozen are keepers, either great-but-currently-unused ones 'that I might want someday,' or rare birds & oddballs.
But many are good pickups that just didn't suit my taste or ones that I simply don't have any use for now.
One of these days I'll get around to doing a big selloff. Been thinking about a BOGO deal: "Buy one, get one from the bargain list."
