So who is Graham Coxon and what has he done..

Re: So who is Graham Coxon and what has he done..

You could also buy a used MIM Nashville Tele. Since it's already got the swimming pool route, you can go with SSS, SS, or SH. It's basically the same tele. I bought mine for $300, and it's a really good guitar.

I put a black cover on the middle. I tore out the Tex Mex pickups and installed Chubtone tele/strat middle.
I may get a new pickguard and go with SS or SH though.

Alittle side note. I hated Oasis too. They played Wonderwall so much here, I couldnt stand it.. I didnt like the song anyhow and then them telling that they were as great as the Beatles.. They had what, 2 hits??

And, to continue my rant.. The Blur video brought up one from The Verve. Them and the Verve Pipe were on my "why?" list too..

haha, rant over.. carry on

I do like that Tele.. even tho I question the "Signature Artist" for whom its made..

In America, something like that. Over the pond they had about 200. And IMO they wrote some of the best songs in recent history.

Oh i dunno. I enjoy the Brit-style, anti-solo solos more than anything EVH ever did. There's more to a good solo than 'widdly widdly widdly widdly wow wah'.

Exactly...I like blues licks and shredding as much as the next guy. However in the middle of a song (not an AC/DC, 3 open chord song about sex and drugs and rock n roll...a real song) it just sounds stupid. I am MUCH more drawn to individuality, killer tone and good melodies.

I'm not a fan of them either, but;

"They have had eight UK number-one singles and eight UK number-one albums, and won fifteen NME Awards, nine Q Awards, four MTV Europe Music Awards and six BRIT Awards, including one in 2007 for outstanding contribution to music and one for the best album of the last 30 years as voted by the BBC Radio 2 listeners; they have been nominated for three Grammy Awards. As of 2009, the band have sold an estimated 70 million records worldwide.[1] Also the band was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2010 for “Longest Top 10 UK Chart Run By A Group” after an unprecedented run of 22 top 10 hits in the UK.[2] The band also holds the Guinness World Record for being the "Best band Britain has produced in the Last Decade" in the UK between the years 1995 and 2005, spending 765 weeks in the Top 75 singles and albums charts.".

They might not have been big in the US, but over here and elsewhere in the world they were absolutely huge. I was in school when they became big and they were probably the most popular band around. The influence and reach was undeniable.

Wow! Thanks for the info! Still amazes me how big bands can be in other parts of the world, and not here or vice versa. Mr big for example.. HUGE in Japan.. A very distant cuz of mine named Ryan Bingham is getting minimal chatter here, but I hear is doing very well overseas..

Blur's eponymous album is one of my favorite albums ever. The only other song I know by them is Parklife which I like a lot.
