A modern Strat or SuperStrat has a supermodel neck, there is nothing better. I've played some Gibsons from the '80s or earlier that had virtual baseball bat necks compared to more recent ones, and it simply isn't my thing. Same for the Jeff Beck Strat (even the latest versions)----simply doesn't do it for me. I don't need giant strings for good tone or feel, either. I think 10s are optimum. Some of the biggest, meanest, heaviest tones ever recorded were with 9s, even though many claim they can't get "their"

sound without telephone wires on their guitars, etc. It's more of a macho thing, and that's fine if it inspires you.
Of all the Superstrats, a nice Jackson/Charvel of ESP/LTD is at the God level for me. I like some Ibanez necks also, but not the original Wizard, which was too thin, especially when paired with a thin S body. Give me a Wizard II or JEM neck, and you won't hear me complain. :cool2:
