This amp is based on the old Fender 5F2A Tweed Princeton. It's loud and quite punchy. It gets a really creamy distortion at volumes that won't make your ears bleed. But, hey, it's a low wattage amp. you'll have to mic it if you want to use it in a club.

I'm offering a 72 hour return policy, no questions asked, refund less the price of shipping both ways. Must be in origiinal perfect condition if you decide to return it.

its times like this that I almost clear out my savings....then I tell myself that my next amp purchase will be a Franklin Combo.

That amp prob. breaksup in an amazing way...And Louder than expected @ 4ohm?

Re: FS: Celtic Austin 1x12 Single Ended Combo Amp

much louder than I anticipated it in the beginning. Also, its cathode-biased, so you can pop in any 6V6 you want to change the distortion up a bit. (6V6 only!)

I'll be updating my website soon showing it for sale. And, I'll keep on breaking in the speaker for the eventual owner. ;)

I need some feedback. Is it too low wattage? Too pricey? Looks like crap? Feedback is much appreciated. At this point, I'm just going to dig playing it until someone bites. I think I'm going to pass on the ebay route. I'm having too much fun playing it and wouldn't mind hanging onto it for a while. ;)

thats the perfect studio amp in my opinion. That would be the greatest recording amp ever. Most people like the 13-15 watt deluxe style amps for general purpose.I had a Clark Tweed deluxe clone in that 13-15 watt range, and with a very efficient Red Fang speaker and it just wouldnt get loud enuf for me.I dont like Tweed deluxes.
I need 30 watts. I dont know about the 18 watt Marshalls, but give me 30 watts and I'm a happy clam.

Wattage is perfect
Price is ridiculously low considering the build quality
And looks... well, she looks stunning. If I had the spare cash, I'd be on it -- guaranteed!

I really think that it is an absolutely beautiful amp and I am sure that it sounds at least as good as it looks. In that price range (which imo is more than fair for a handwired amp of that quality) there are a lot of other great options on the used market though. My guess would be that most (obviously not all) people looking to spend that kind of money would like to have an amp that they can play in a club or practice situation without miking it; even though with the higher watt amps it is much harder to crank it enough to sound its best in most situations. Maybe you can list it for sale on your website.

I already have one of your Celtic tweeds, Scott. Not that I don't want this one, too. :)

Just a sign of our current state of financial affairs I'm afraid.

There are super big money amps sitting in the Emporium on The Gear Page, some going for ridiculously low prices.

Good time for buyers with cash money....not so much for sellers ! :(

That amp is B-E-A-Utiful Scott! The specs look cool even to me and I'm not the biggest Fender fan.

Good for this seller! I get to justify continuing to "break in the speaker". :smash:

SEcKSIE!!!

I keep re-reading, and I keep missing it: what is the power output rating?

i have something very similar, no where near as pretty but its a great little amp for jamming at home. i dont think the price is too high for what it is, i just think the right buyer needs to come along

Re: FS: Celtic Austin 1x12 Single Ended Combo Amp

I really like the VOL/TONE set up. Thats what I have on my pro junior and it makes setup so much simpler. Volume goes down, tone goes up. Volume up, tone goes down. I <3 dual el84 amps, I wonder if I would like a 6v6 as much...

6V6's are wonderful little tone bottles.

It's beautiful and I'm sure it will sound the same. I would be thinking it if it wasn't 120 volts and if I wasn't into the Edana so much. I hope I'll make an order this year.

Re: FS: Celtic Austin 1x12 Single Ended Combo Amp

That is a beautiful amp. I think I would need a little more headroom. I have never heard a single ended amp with any tubes other than EL84s.

I need to take a day off and drive to College Station to explore some sounds.
