Okay, after having my V Series amp for a couple of months now I decided its time to part. It is an amazing amp but I just can't get that tone I want. I guess What Im looking for is just a chug chug amp that is not to expensive. So, I have tried the Peavey XL supreme head through a 4X12 and it sounds nice IMO. I always did not like the Marshall MG combos that I have tried, but yesterday I tried the head through a 4X12 and I was shocked I acually liked it. So my best guess is Im not a tube person. Well maybe if I had like a Mesa Boogie but that is way out of league/ price range. So, Im thinking of selling my V Series and buy a SS Half stack, prolly in the 600-700 price range new. I don't want a modeler and I don't need any effects because all I ever use is Distortion or clean. So, do you guys have any suggestions for a SS head that is in 400-500 range that can give me a decent chug chug distortion. 2 channel and footswitchable is a must. Im looking for something that is atleast 100 or can handle a gig. (that is another reason I want to get a half stack)

I have the TM60 and I love it. The TM120 or TM300 may be what you're after. I think Hoss has a TM120. Great tones, great features, great prices.

Well, i dont want to promote myself, but im selling a year old Marshall MG100HDFX head(200w/o shipping) and the 4x12 cab, for(200w/o shipping). Just PM me if ur interested. :)

No man don't think so. I love my tube amps but I keep loving the sound of my old Valvestate. Anyway, if you like something its good, regardless of its nature.

Armotron's offer isn't a bad one...

Buy used. Depreciation on SS amps is often killer so you might be able to get the amp you want at the price you're looking for. Let someone else take the hit on value...if you decide to sell it down the road, you can get a much higher %age of what you paid by buying used.

Let me tell you a story son.... ah screw it lol JB From Hell is right.... buy a nice Randall head and cab, you won't regret it! RH100G2 is a good choice. Built in chorus, 2 channels, contour control for Gain 2 on OD channel, mid voicing switch, clean boost... the works!

+ get a decent cab, the cabs that come with the cheaper stacks are never much good
