Some advice?

I recently got a Kramer Vanguard and im wanting to change the pickups.

Basically i don't have a big budget and im looking on ebay.
I've came to the conclusion i want either SD's or DiMarzio pickups.

At the moment im watching a super distortion and a paf pro. Also an evolution.
59B, SH-4, JB and a Alnico 2 pro.

Just looking for some friendly advice and not to play any particular style i like anything from Beethoven to Mortician.
(My main love is Metal)

Re: Some advice?

Personally I love the JB but there's plenty of folks on this forum that don't like it. What don't you like about the pups the guitar came with ? What amp are you using ? It sounds like you might prefer something with a bit more than a PAF type output.

Re: Some advice?

just stock pickups quadrails they are called

im using a crate amp gx-40c paf is up to 38 with about an hour and a half to go :S

Re: Some advice?

SEYMOUR DUNCAN DISTORTION HUMBUCKER SH-6B

SEYMOUR DUNCAN 59 MODEL HUMBUCKER NECK PICKUP

been offered both these for £85

Re: Some advice?

If they're in good condition then yeah, that's a pretty decent price for two Duncans in the UK. Just make sure they're the ones you want, if they're not then you'll just end up taking them out again and spending even more money. Though if you resell those then you should get at least that amount for them, I guess.

You can get a brand new set of Distortions on Ebay for £100. If you're buying those two seperately then you'll pay more for them.

Re: Some advice?

I'd say go for it, those sound like what you're looking for.

If you want to turn your DD into a JB, its a simple magnet swap

Re: Some advice?

cool the condition are as follows
ITS STARTING TO LOOK A BIT AGED AND RELIC LIKE NOW BUT WORKING PERFECTLY AND STILL HAS FULL LENGTH OF WIRE. HIGH OUTPUT AND VERY GOOD SUSTAIN. INCLUDES ORIGINAL BOX.

says same for both for condition
