Some dude on Ebay with some cheap brobuckers!

Re: Some dude on Ebay with some cheap brobuckers!

If its true, then very cool, cause the seller is keeping to the agreement not to ask more than the original price.

There was 4 listings for them when I first saw them. They may very well be duplicates. You'd think he'd at least say in his listing that he was selling more than 1, but you look at his other items for sale, he doesn't say much in them either.

I thought we weren't supposed to offer them to anyone but another forum member? About the agreement you mentioned above, it's an auction. The final bids will determine whether or not they've kept their promise. I wish I had the money, I'd buy all three from the guy. It's still my favorite pickup.

Just bought one.

Cool. All three of those had a $60 bid with no buy it now. Did you contact the guy? It doesn't look like he's the original owner because there are two different names on the boxes. Not the original agreement, but I don't think they'll get mad about ten extra bucks considering it's been what, three or four years now?

All 4 of the auctions had a $110 BIN on it. The guy was/is a member here. I remember the FedEx guitar. IIRC, this guy was pretty good friends with GroupieGirl.

I thought all three had bids. Shows how the brain plays tricks on you when really want something, lol. When I saw different names, it seemed like this may have been one of these guys who buys up stuff and sells it later. Maybe I'm a bit old fashioned, but I feel like if I was to sell either of my Brobuckers, I'd have to offer it on the forum first. It just feels like that's the right thing to do.

Re: Some dude on Ebay with some cheap brobuckers!

They had bids. I had bid on two of them, but decided I wanted one for sure and thought they'd go up in price, so I retracted my bid on one and that made the $110 BIN appear again, so then I hit the BIN instead. I still have a lower bid in on another because while I don't want to pay $116 total for a second one, I might take my chances and see if I can score it cheaper, never know.

I'd just send him a message, tell him who you are from the forum and see if he'll cut you deal for buying both. It's worth a shot anyway! Worst he can say is no.

Re: Some dude on Ebay with some cheap brobuckers!

No, not that big of a deal, besides, I've bought $200 worth of pickups in the past week that I do not have a guitar for them to go in, simply found great pickups at some good prices and couldn't pass them up for possible future use. Besides, if he was really interested in forum loyalty he would have posted them here.

Re: Some dude on Ebay with some cheap brobuckers!

THAT was good thinking. Again, congratulations on the purchase. Have you ever had a Brobucker? If not, I think you'll be in for a treat.

Re: Some dude on Ebay with some cheap brobuckers!

Can anyone give me a good description of the Brobucker's characteristics?? I am strongly considering buying one (or both) of these. At 10K, I was thinking of buying one and pairing with a 59 in the neck spot.

Re: Some dude on Ebay with some cheap brobuckers!

Off topic... but what do you guys think the chances are of putting one of these together again? Wouldn't necessarily have to be a pickup - could be a pedal, whatever the upper level agrees upon? Maybe a tricked out P-rails/Triple shot set? ;)

Dunno, if its something you guys would be in to and think could happen, I'll bring it up in the pickup lounge, sound room, whatever the proper avenue:)

Part of the deal back then was these were never to be sold as new. Had to be "used" condition.

Re: Some dude on Ebay with some cheap brobuckers!

So when we initially bought them, they were bought as used? haha j/k

Re: Some dude on Ebay with some cheap brobuckers!

Just received it, technically used because of several owners, but its never been installed and still has the plastic on the cover. I yanked the cover and its double cream. However, I also just bought a set of well aged Ants. I'm going to use the Ant neck stock, but put the Ant bridge cover over the Brobucker and they're going here (I think the aged covers will work well)......
