Jesus Christ, that is one classy LP. I would kill for a LP with a p90/HB setup. When they release this for under $2000, will be the day they've done something right.

That might be the first time I've ever seen a black Gibson that the back wasn't painted black. At least I don't recall ever seeing one.

Re: Some Good News from Gibson

The top one is beautiful

The lower one looks like a PRS body shape with half arsed LP controls ... Yuck

Re: Some Good News from Gibson

I had to look up who Lou Pallo was. I never would have thought some jazz dude would have a Dirty Fingers pickup in his guitar.

That struck me as odd, too. I'm betting he spends most his his time on the neck pickup.

DiMeola played a SuperDistortion.

But again - typical podge of random LP features: Custom inlay, Standard body binding / headstock, 60's knobs, no painted back. Whatever. And it's more than 2k? No thanks.

A H/P-90 LP that does not suck like the Dark Fire sounds a damn lot interesting IMO ^^

Re: Some Good News from Gibson

garbage x2.

The LP is cool but they are only making 400 of them. Nothing really that great about it anyway....Gibson would get similar results if they put all their ideas in a hat + randomly chose 6.

The epiphone shape is ugly. The inlays look horrible. What were they thinking with the knob placement? The lack of binding also makes the gold top look dull.

I'd rather have a firebird x.

Re: Some Good News from Gibson

Am I wrong or did the LP that Mick Sweda played have a P90 neck and normal bridge pup? Id never seen that combo till I saw the Smooth up vid.
I played an EPI gold top yest with P90s yest and thought it was kinda cool, but noisy as heck.

Yes, he did! Tom Scholz, too.
